Dec 10th, nothing but rainin'. Wow, if it was cold enough it would have been alot of snow! If you're reading this welcome to the first My Garden of BEADin' blog! Since I am not a previous blogger there will be a learing curve!! Please bear with me, I'm sure it will be too fun! Today, I have Megan Frizzel from West Henderson High School coming to put in some beadin' time as she's doing her senior project on Beading. They must put in 12 hours with a mentor (that would be me) and write a paper and do a power point presentation. This must then be presented in front of a panel of judges, they are then graded and critiqued. It is a graduation requirement. This is actually the 3rd student we've had! They are encourged to pick a subject they know nothing about. We've done basic stringing, wrapped loop chandelier earrings, peyote and today we will do a wire wrap pendant. I try to mix it up for her, showing the many different aspects of jewelry making. We're having fun! We are looking forward to our Holiday Open House Saturday! We will have a PMC demo, a crimping clinic, a Christmas Earring class and a kids table. Lots of new product just in time for gift giving, LOTS of SALE items, treats and goodies! Saturday, Dec 13th, 10a-6p. Friday, Dec 19th we are having a jewelry market drop in at my home from 6p-9p. We will be featuring some of the finished jewelry from the summer market artists, free gift wrap and more treats and goodies. 'Tis the season, right? (I'll have no excuse but to go Angela's Zumba class for sure come January, or will I) Saturday we are teaching soldering and making a personlized ornament. A sample picture is on the website. Okay, I'm blogged out... but look forward to blogging with you again.
